Instrumentation

The Pacific Centre for isotopic and Geochemical Research (PCIGR) is a full-service analytical facility that houses a wide variety of specialized instrumentation to meet your research and analytical needs. 

 

Overall, PCIGR features the following assets and capabilities:

  • 12 mass spectrometers and numerous peripheral devices, in various configurations and geometries, for a wide variety of analysis types. 
  • Trace elemental, isotopic and geochronological measurements, across the periodic table and in a variety of sample types for various applications. 
     

PCIGR includes a state-of-the-art, 2,200 sq. ft. clean laboratory space known as nUBC. Through a proud partnership with Nu Instruments (UK) since 2012, we use nUBC to collaboratively advance research and development in mass spectrometry to benefit the research community.

Shared Research Platforms are facilities funded jointly by the Office of the VP, Research and Innovation and Faculties and departments for the purpose of offering specialized research services to UBC and external research communities.
